Transforming Participation in Health and Care – Give Your Feedback on Guidance on Involving Patients and the Public

“Patient and public participation is not a nice to have. It is an absolutely fundamental part, as any customer facing business would realise, of delivering a high quality and effective service.” Tim Kelsey, National Director for Patients and Information.

NHS England is in the process of refreshing its statutory guidance for CCGs on how they can meet their legal duty to involve the public in commissioning and their duty to promote the involvement of each patient in their own care.

Olivia Butterworth, Head of Public Participation at NHS England, has written a blog about the approach being taken to refreshing Transforming Participation in Health and Care.

NHS England would welcome comments on the existing guidance and what you would like to see in the refreshed guidance by email to england.nhs.participation@nhs.net. The closing date for comment is Friday 13 January 2017. Please include your name, organisation and contact details in the email.
