Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund 2015-16 launched

The Department of Health’s Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund for financial year 2015-16 has been launched- for both local and national projects.

You will need to ensure your Registration and Eligibility form is completed on AIMS by noon 8th May 2015. The deadline for applications is noon 22nd May 2015. An e-learning module guiding you through the process can be accessed through the AIMS log-in page (in the top right hand corner of the page). All applicants should read the e-learning guide, even if you have applied before.

Practical guides to engaging with local health bodies published- Compact Voice and Regional Voices

Support for CCGs to use grants launched

Grants are a fundamentally important part of the funding mix for voluntary sector organisations. However, in the post-Health and Social Care Act commissioning landscape there has been some confusion about the roles of grants and mechanisms for grant funding  (see research from Regional Voices' partner RAISE: Exploring the Potential of the CVS-CCG Partnership).

NHS England Grant opportunity - Developing Youth Voice

NHS England have advertised a grant opportunity to support youth involvement in health, as part of their broader commitment to involving patients and the public in their work. The grant will be across NHS England's four regions (North, South, Midlands and East and London). Maximum grant award is £25k and total available funds is £100k. They wish to build on existing local youth networks by supporting an additional focus on health. Closing date for the grant applications is noon, 9 March 2015.

Community-centred approaches for health and wellbeing- evidence base developing

A useful new resource has been published by NHS England and Public Health England- ‘A guide to community-centred approaches for health and wellbeing’. It sets out an evidence-based case for working with communities, discusses key concepts, introduces a new family of community-centred approaches and highlights implications for local leaders and commissioners- across the NHS, local government and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

Realising the Value- some great news!

We are delighted to announce to members that Regional Voices is one of a number of partners to have been selected to run a new grant-funded programme for NHS England, ‘Realising the Value’. The purpose of the programme is to demonstrate to health practitioners and commissioners the value of engaging people in their health and care.
