Regional Voices Updated Guides to Who's Who in the Health and Care System

Regional Voices has recently updated its Who's Who Guides to help voluntary and community sector organisations identify and make contact with people in health and care structures in each region.

Information is included on organisations including NHS clinical commissioning groups, health and wellbeing boards, Healthwatch, commissioning support and CQC in each area.

Our guides are produced by our regional VCS network organisations and are a convenient way to find information and contacts in one place.

Sustainability and Transformation Plans - A Major Development in Commissioning

July 2016 sees the deadline for the production of Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STP’s) - joint plans produced by NHS providers, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG), Local Authorities, and other health and care services (including VCSE partners) for 44 ‘footprint’ geographical areas across England. These will form the basis for long term, place based planning and commissioning of services.

New Realising the Value Report Published - Making the Change

The Realising the Value consortium recently published the report Making the Change: behavioural factors in person- and community-centred approaches for health and wellbeing

The report aims to increase understanding of the drivers of behaviour change and the barriers to making changes. It highlights the five factors that can help to enable behaviour change: having a growth mindset, self-efficacy and 'grit'; removing increases in effort required to perform a behaviour; social connections; intrinsic motivation; and goal setting and feedback.

Social Prescribing Resources from Regional Voices

Over the past year Regional Voices has produced a number of resources on social prescribing. Many VCSE organisations are involved in social prescribing projects which are designed to help people improve their health and wellbeing by linking them up with non-clinical services in their own community.

Realising the Value Report Published

The Realising the Value consortium this week published the report At the heart of health: Realising the value of people and communities.

The report brings together evidence on what good person- and community-centred approaches for health and wellbeing look like and their potentially wide-reaching benefits. In particular, the programme focuses on five areas:

Better Data Resources - Help to Demonstrate Your Value

In the current financial climate the need for third sector organisations to be able to demonstrate their worth to commissioners and funders has never been greater.

This often represents a significant challenge for third sector organisations operating at the forefront of health and wellbeing. The ability of organisations to evidence need, impact and service quality has increasingly become a key factor affecting organisational sustainability.

Better Data Report - Making the Third Sector Case for Health Improvement

The findings from the Better Data research into how the third sector and public sector partners can effectively utilise and share data have been published. The report calls for a national approach to help third sector organisations to use data resources to meet the needs highlighted by the NHS England Five Year Forward View.

Realising the Value - 5 Local Partner Sites Selected

Realising the Value has appointed five local partner sites to help increase the impact of person-centred, community-based approaches to health and wellbeing.

The five local partner sites each have a wealth of experience working in one of the five areas of practice that the programme is focussing on:
